About Me

Every story I tell begins with a simple belief: that the solutions to our greatest challenges often lie within our communities, waiting to be seen, heard, and amplified.

My Journey

I am Sama Mildred Ngenseh—a documentary filmmaker, communication professional, and social worker from Cameroon. My work sits at the intersection of storytelling and social impact, where cameras become tools for advocacy and films become catalysts for change.

With a degree in Journalism and over four years of hands-on experience, I’ve dedicated my career to documenting how African communities are addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. From climate resilience to youth innovation, my films showcase the ingenuity, determination, and hope that define the African narrative.

Why Documentary Filmmaking?

Growing up in Cameroon, I witnessed firsthand how powerful stories could shift perspectives and inspire action. I realized that media wasn’t just about broadcasting information it was about building bridges between communities and the world, between problems and solutions, between silence and empowerment.

Documentary filmmaking became my medium of choice because it captures truth in motion. It preserves voices that might otherwise go unheard. It creates evidence of change happening in real-time.

My Work in Communities

Beyond individual projects, I lead youth film initiatives across Cameroon, empowering the next generation of African storytellers. These programs teach young people not just how to operate cameras, but how to identify stories worth telling and create media that serves their communities

I believe in:

  • Authenticity over sensationalism – Real stories resonate deeper than manufactured drama
  • Community collaboration – The best documentaries are made with people, not about them
  • Solution-focused narratives – Highlighting what works, not just what’s broken
  • Sustainable impact – Creating films that continue to educate and inspire long after the premiere
